How can I have a favourite when I love them all - why else would I grow them?
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Hi~

I can't really say I have a favourite. But perhaps my current "star" is this later flowering Christmas cactus, which I found just over a year ago in a charity shop. I wasn't too sure of what its fate would be as it smelled of damp and had some moss on it. So I got it to dry out and removed the moss, not expecting much to happen, so it was a surprise when it flowered 6 months later (last year) and has again this year, albeit after Christmas (probably due to my cold abode!).

Best Wishes,

Leandra

Many thanks to all who entered, and you have set me quite a task! I can honestly say that every entry would have made a worthy winner. I love Leandra's colourful Christmas cactus, Hedge's 'Eric' (I've never flowered mine), Cactusgirl's Leuchtenbergia, El48tel's Aeoniums and Rod's 'survivors from the dark' (I remember the posts at the time). But the outstanding plants for me were Mike's Mammillaria and Agavemad's Echeveria 'gilva'; very close, but the winner is SpickyMike for his M. luethyi, so over to you Mike for February's topic.

What a lovely surprise! Thanks for selecting my little Mammillaria luethyi. She is very happy when I told her!
Feel rather humble as all the other photos show such glorious plants!

Sorry for my tardiness I’m adding a February topic. Have been away and drowning under work (also as a newbie didn’t know the process for the winner selecting the next month topic!). Looking forward to some lovely pictures of Astrophytum (Asytrophta?) during February 2019.

Thanks. I’m massively impressed with your Agaves. I’m a cactus fella - v. limited space. But if I had space I’d love to delve into Agaves like yours (...figuratively; would be rather spiky to do for real!)
