Following on from my post last December, the following pictures are an update on some of the bigger specimens that have been let out of the greenhouse for the summer.

Quite a few of these need re potting, any volunteers to flip these pots upside down and catch what pops out!

Best Regards
Dave

Super plants, Dave, but I don't envy you repotting them!

Very nice Agaves, do you keep them all in a greenhouse over winter? You have the one in bud, have you had any before, which have flowered? What will you do when they all get much bigger, move?

Hi Liz,

My greenhouse is like the Tardis (bigger on the inside than the outside!). Except for a few they all fit in somehow. The gigantensis together with parryi live outside under a polycarbonate shelter with no heating.

The one in bud, polycantha has flowered before in my collection, there's some pictures of both events here,
http://www.aridhouse.plus.com/pol_gallery.html , this plant also spent last winter outside under the shelter.

I also have a parrasana that started flowering last year then went dormant and hasn't woken up yet. There is a thread on the main forum here of that one which I have been keeping updated.

The difformis is about the right size to flower so hoping. I repotted and root pruned it yesterday, sometimes that can spook them into flowering if they are big enough.

I was going to put up a lean-to conservatory at the back, but university tuition fees have put an end to that idea in the short term.

My mums greenhouse doesn't have much in it over winter - now there's a thought.

Best Regards
Dave Wright.

Most seem quite happy, lurida and attenuatta don't do too well.
