Thanks Rod, they look OK now but I do wonder what they will be like come spring, there are always a few losses. Winter is a worrying time, even when you have done your best.

Yes, you're right and you can't anticipate where the axe is going to fall.

Lovely plants Liz, much tidier than my greenhouse! Mine is so full of plants overwintering that I am not sure if I could get in and take a picture...

Thanks Alan, I had to take a few plants out to get in there to manoeuvre the camera. There is still room for the emergency plants when the weather turns nastier.

Is that Veltheimea bracteata lurking among the winter growers? I have one I grew from seed, but I haven't had flowers yet, how about you?

There are four in fact, two in one pot and two more in separate pots. I grew them from seed, as well, they are very easy and with good conditions flower in about two years. Mine have flowered several times now, here is a picture. It's a long-lasting flower and very attractive, with a stem of similar colouring.

Thanks for the info Liz, I must be nicer to my Veltheimea! Mine is about 6 years old!!
