I seem to be collecting H.retusa forms here... It's a fascinating species, of which some forms are flatter than others. Some forms approach H.turgida, I think.... and others, H.mutica?
And hmmm, next to your Han Solo, I spy something spikey beginning with C :cac3:
Haworthias can have a larger root system than the plant itself... you might want to give it a deeper pot?
Thanks for the advice Lindsey, I will keep an eye on that.I always thought they had shallow roots. And yes thats a piece of mammilaria next to itI found. It will have its own pot in the spring.

Tina those Haws look great!

Hi Bill
Thanks that looks the same, will have to label it.

Here's a nice h.maughanni, it has some trendy Japanese name that I can't remember of course.

then there is this one h truncata cv simofurin, ex mr Kobayashi, it's a good perk of going to ELK getting these special cultivars, really you need very long arms to grab any of the goodies.

no he's normally quite good & will pass the odd plant along.

I got some of the trendy ariocarpus godzilla & cauliflower seed this year so can't wait to sow it.

Unlike the two greedy beeps this year who probably grabbed two thirds of the plants before Mr Kobayashi even had a chance to unpack the box after he got distracted by someone who want to buy all the seed which he wasn't having.

All I can say of the prices Jane, is they are far better value than :ebay:

I love that B/W version, great to see! Very Karl Blossfeldt! If youre not familiar with the name google him, he did some fabulous work in plants!
