Euphorbia atrox - another one that I find hard to get going even on graft, it takes ages to root, grows a bit and then shrivels up. Edited by Lithos Dec 2013 _ Lazy name mistake, I'd labelled it as E.ferox, it is E.atrox.

Euphorbia meridionalis - one of the few Euphphorbias that have red cyathia (flowers) spelt wrong probably - It has a very long root, and it's another awkward thing to get growing, I often think I've killed it, but it seems to be throwing out roots from the exposed area ( I'll spell adventitious roots correctly when I check the latin phrase book.

Euphorbia alfredii, really pretty flowers but seems to be very slow growing, never managed to get any seed from this despite the number of flowers you get.

Yes Phil - they are - Tina's Euph Abdelkuri is really unusual - growing these awkward plants ain't easy and Tina seems to do it well. Personally, I have slowly killed things by mistake, but learned how to deal with each plant over the years, but still have sudden deaths. At this point I think 'why not grow Rebutias, Parodoias,Copiapoas, Echinopsis, etc. - no problems' - your cactus nonsense plants are so easy to keep. I do have a Euphorbia from Peru (dullest Euphorbia thread) which I admit is dull compared to cactus things that grow there.

Tina - I've got more pictures, sure you have - I suggest Genus of the month for May should continue to be Euphorbia, it's been a late start for most - and flowering cactus are all over the forum.

Fortunately, I've never found difficulty of cultivation as something that drives my taste in plants.
