Chris has planted a flowering g. bayrianum in his cactus flowers thread. Mine are a bit young to flower but who cares when they are an attractive blue green. Lau447

Gymnocalycium paediophilum FR1177.
P7050006.JPG
Treated as a synonym of G. chiquitanum in the NCL this species seems certain to be recognised in the next edition if it ever happens. My plant hasn't begat any children yet and remains single-headed. Needs watering, I think, too!

Sorry to ask this question here, but are we only supposed to post photos of our own plants, or are plants we have photographed at nurseries or plant shows allowed, too?... I am referring to this section only (Genus of the Month). I posted a lot of my own, but I have many nice photos of other peoples' Gymnocalyciums in flower others might appreciate.

We will be pleased to see the photos you have taken of other people's gymnos. Thank you.

G. gibbosum 'fennellii' P95. A poorly plant that had lost its roots but is now recovering.

I did take some photos of the plants of a Manchester Branch member who had passed away. The branch held an auction in 2010 to sell them. It was rather a large greenhouse full of very nice plants - including many Gymnocalyciums.

We put the photos on our Branch Website and they can be seen here. All the plants are there, but it should be easy enough to find the Gymnos in amongst them as they are all named.

Enjoy! [four pages - tabs on the left]
