Do people not grow Mammillaria anymore? Tongue in cheek, for the highlight of my Mammillaria year was to judge the excellent Mammillaria classes at the Oxford Show earlier this summer where there were some magnificent specimens to be seen.

But no post here in the last fortnight, perhaps you are too busy repotting your recent acquisitions from the National Show and ELK, so thought I would start the ball rolling.

A selection of 2 year old seedlings, mainly from Mamm Soc and BCSS seeds:

A fine M. senilis in Hamish McKelvie's collection I spotted in April, with dark red flowers rather than the more usual scarlet.

A little M. solisioides coaxed into opening its flower late one November:

Please show us your favourites too.

I have always been fond of M. plumosa, it used to be quite popular, especially the 'Golf Ball' form, which has more distinct heads. If I can succeed, here's a photo of one of mine, not a 'Golf Ball'.

I take my hat down juster. Mine isn't even close to that white of yours. As a matter of fact, few times a year I doubt its alive...

Thanks AnTTun, I think it's grown on well this year and not been under any drips in the greenhouse.

A few more
Mamm bocasana.JPG
M. bocasana, pink floored form.
Mamm zeil.JPG
Mamm zeil pink.JPG
and another old favourite, zeilmanniana, the usual flower colour and the pink flowered form. Can't find a photo of the white flowered plant.

Another carmenae. Lots of variation in spine colours, worth having more than one form.
Mamm vaupelii.JPG
M. haageana, this one came originally as vaupellii.
Mamm guelzowiana.JPG
Another guelzowiana, hard to resist for growers or hoverflies, even though they seem relatively short lived plants (at least they are the way I treat them).
