I'll be first and show willing, though I gather Notocacti are not as fashionable as they once were.

Originally from seed Hofacker sent me from a Prestle plant as Notocactus oligacanthus nom. nud.

An oldie but still goodie, Notocactus mammulosus.

Another variant from Hofacker seed labelled as Notocactus purpureus.

Notocactus agnatae

And that other old favourite, Notocactus rutilans.

Finally Notocactus submammulosus ssp. minor STO 270 from Sierra Ancasti. This is a red flowering population of the normally yellow flowering N. mammulosus or submammulosus. It is found under both names.

I don't know why they are not so popular as they are fairly easy to grow and have interesting spines and of course, beautiful flowers. A beginners joy. My favourite is ottonis.

Notocacti are amongst my favourites; strange that they seem less popular now, as they are not demanding. Some lovely flowers from Dave and David; here are three more, all very different.

I acquired the same plant as N. scopa ramosus Juster, but think it goes around collections under the wrong name since it does not resemble the original picture of N. scopa ramosus

https://www.cactuspro.com/lecture/Osten ... 05.en.html

It is in the New Cactus Lexicon as N. scopa marchesii.

Thanks Dave, that's really interesting, it's so easy just to accept the name on the label! I do have a very old N. scopa of the single headed form, which actually is much more similar to the original picture. I tend to be rather lazy about changing labels, but intend to change this one.

What happened to April this year, since we are nearly in May? :???:
