It's at the American National Show most years, in a shallow ceramic pot and in perfect condition, on the 'trophy table' but I've not seen it win Best Cactus.

Well Stuart it may be in a shallow bowl just for the show ? because it sure looks to be growing well with all those new joints, I am happy with 1 or 2 new joints a year on my plant and my new joints are red/purple when they first start off not blue as in your photo, would be interesting to see best cactus in show if that plant did not win it one year.
