Hi Stuart

I think we should try for a 'mass FORUM entering competition' so everyone has to put in at least one plant.
It's either that or there has to be a favourite forum plant class, no prizes necessary but we all get to ogle & show off our favourite plant, it could even be judged by the mods & the winner gets a Fero or Haworthia ( depending if they are a spikey or cabbage lover)
Tina

varied collection of succulents and cacti but I especially like Euphorbia's, Ariocarpus and variegated agaves.

Hi Stuart,

Just so you know, the correct generic name for Tunilla turns out to be Airampoa after all. This is a long and somewhat boring story, but Tunilla is WRONG!

Hi Phil,

I'm currently in Scotland and away from most things succulent. Once I return to the civilised south at the end of the month I'll do you the story. If I forget, please remind me. Sorry for the delay, but I do need access to journals to be accurate. This is a cactus story after all and I don't have it all at my finger tips.
Cheers,
Colin

The Haworthia pots come I believe from Japan and I don't believe they are particularly cheap, I am pretty certain Stirling Baker said he imports them himself although I notice some one else was using them. But whatever I want some.

Actually the horrida was brought into to hall by Georgina, no fork lifts were used in getting it on or off the van nor onto its purpose built staging (3 pallets).

Mainly Haworthia and Gasteria, a few other South African succulents and the odd spiky thing.

Hi Brian,

I do know that there is some civilisation this far north. ;)

Since I'm writing, I'm reading John's new book The genus Echeveria as my light holiday reading. 'cos I'm reviewing this wonderful book for cactusWorld.

Re. Echeveria cuspidata, John makes the point that Martin Kristen and Julia Etter think that E. cuspidata var. gemmula and var. zaragozae are the same thing. He also says that E. cuspidata can be cussed to grow, so be warned.
Cheers,
Colin
