Hi Karen,
I don't think the first one is G. saglione (or is that label in the other pot).
This is G. saglione

Great to see a Leuchtenbergia flower. Mine's not managed a single bud this 'summer'. I hear August in the UK was officially the dullest in about 60 years!

Amazing flowers, Karen, very jealous of the Leuchtenbergia, still waiting for mine to flower.

Mike, it looks like Semptember is going to be the same, Ive got things in bud that I can't imagine will ever flower.

Indeed Liz. I have a Ferocactus horridus in bud for the first time but I'm not confident it will make it.

Had 2 flowers on the Leuchtenbergia though.

Wonder if the Ariocarpus will flower this year?

Mike.

The Gymno could be a G. pflanzii with the red throated flower. My Leuchtenbergia hasn't obliged either....

But I have had flowers on a couple of Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus, one still in flower and buds on another. But other species seem much more reluctant.

Chris43- the gymno was labeled g.saglione(which is easy to mistake it for without flowers) but google pics of g.pflanzii look more like it, thanks.:)

i found this pic from 2006, if it helps confirm it.
