Our school (workers) went to on a trip to Italy. Our main goal were the five villages (Cinque Terre). On our first day we had a tour of the city Mantova (the place where Shakespeares Romeo was sent from Verona) It is quite a nice city.
the guide said that the city consists of 12 palaces. Here is one.

This is some kind of a main square. If you see the tower in the back of the picture that is where you'd be hanged by your feet for adultery for everyone to see.

Re: Cinque Terre - Italy
We made a quick stop at Porto Venere ( they said that Byron and Percy stayed there for some time and that Percy sailed from here to his death)

And from the other side already in the open sea.

On the next photo you can see that the clifs are rich with iron(redish color)

The first village is called Rio Maggiore and here is the real reason why I started this travelogue.

From Rio Maggiore leads a path called Via Amore or the path of love. It leads to the next village called Manarola.

Here you can lock your love with a padlock. There were hudreds on the rail.

On the path there were many Opuntias, Agaves and other succulents.

On the right you can see a wineyard.

Wild pelargoniums

Photo taken from afar so not sure if it is a cactus or an Euphorbia

And a wiev of the village

In Manarola we boarded the ship again and went to the next village called Monterosso. There was a lot of rain and high waves. This is the landing.

From here we took a train to Vernazza. Here it was raining heavily so I don't have any good photos.

Here is one seagull that stood proud in the rain.

Re: Cinque Terre - Italy
From Vernazza we again took the train to La spezia and headed to our hotel. The next day when we were returning home we visited Parma (here the famous cheese is made the one that is put in pasta)
A famous painter Parmigianino (the first time I heard of him )

Garibaldi (do you know what he did?)

Want to tell the time or calculate longitude and latitude.

And some churches

In this building they batise Christians in pool.

And the last photo of Komisar Rex

Beautiful... thanks for sharing the photos, Sandi.
Those villages remind me of www.portmeirion.com I've been there a few times and it's so beautiful.
