You are right Lindsey it does seem odd. I would write to the distributors and ask for an explanation. I would guess it's the difference between sending one large box of books to one location verses sending a large number of single copies to diverse locations.

My supply of the book was sent direct from the printers in Singapore to me in the UK.

Am I assuming rightly that anyone from Europe who ordered directly from the Little Sphaeroid Press has not received the book just yet? It's quiet up here about this.

By the way, some information new to me that I had found on the website of the Little Sphaeroid Press:
Eight planned volumes, penned by mesemb expert Steven Hammer, will appear on a 12 to 18–month schedule and be individually compact and affordable.
So one volume every year to year-and-a-half. Good to know.

Mine has just arrived.
A few little extras as well

Slight crushing on the top of the spine, but otherwise intact.

A quick flick through shows very clear and beautiful photos and illustrations!

Distribution maps showing localities of individual species rather than a genus as a whole is fab and something which I have not been able to find elsewhere! (tu)
Looking forward to the read
Especially interested in Mesembs. small Aloes and South African miniatures and bulbs.

My subscription copy has arrived too  with my council tax bill  but the freebies are most welcome . Presumably opened by customs, because it slid out onto the doorstep when pick up! Corner bumped  .

Initial reaction: very white! That white dust jacket will get grubby quickly. Very nice presentation throughout.

One error is obvious: Beukesfontein has been mis-plotted, so the distribution of Didymaotus & Tanquana prismatica has been moved from the Succulent Karoo into Fynbos - way out!

I'm looking forward to a lot of good reading and perhaps re-labelling. Few new taxa though.

Best wishes,

Just been handed my copy by the postman.

Looking at the rotten weather outside I know what I shall be doing this afternoon. (tu)
