Sussex Zone Show, 9th August

Post by Werewolf »

Schedules are now available by PM (please include email address) for this year's Zone 12 Show, which will be held on Saturday 9th August at South Downs Nurseries, Brighton Road (the A273), Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 9LY. There are 36 classes, 17 each for cacti and succulents plus two novice classes, with a good selection of medals, diplomas and trophies for the winners. Judging will be by Tony Roberts.

The venue is a large and impressively stocked garden centre, which also has a pets and aquatics department, an interesting Heritage Centre and, of course, a coffee shop. In addition, there are butchers' and green grocers' markets on Saturdays.

All show entrants exhibiting in five or more classes will receive a Tates Garden Centres Reward Card, kindly donated by Brighton & Hove Branch.

Is that the same venue as last year?

It's a different venue, Mike, another of three garden centres in the same Sussex-based chain.

Just a brief reminder of the Sussex Zone Show on 9th August.

The main purpose of the event, which we hold in conjunction with Tate's Garden Centres, is to reach out to the general public who do not normally get to attend C&S shows and hopefully generate interest in our plants and the hobby. We attracted three new members in 2013, so we are hopeful of a strong and varied entry to support our aims again this year.

Show schedules are available from me by PM and more details can be found at the beginning of this thread.
