Blue Mountain Botanic Garden
The Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust runs the Sydney Botanic Garden, Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Mount Tomah and The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. The Blue Mountains Garden is about 30miles from Sydney.
The mountains do have a definite blue hue. The forest is largely Eucalyptus, and the volatile oils given off by the foliage gives the air its blue haze.
Lots of colour here at the end of October, spring is sprung.
Waratahs are Australian shrubs/trees, the different species (and hybrids?) have various flower colours. Telopea speciosissima, the New South Wales Waratah, is the New South Wales floral emblemMike T

Not sure what this Crassula is. Anyone able to give an ID?
Looks like a Kleinia/Senecio reaching for the Aloe plicatilis
Aeonium providing some yellow flowers to contrast with the almost black leavesMike T

I wasn’t the only one to appreciate the Oscularia. There were various butterflies, birds and lizards among the plants
Kleinia/Senecio with a Euphorbia
More Aeoniums
More of the wildlife
Plenty of flowers on the small bog garden with its pitcher plants. I think these were SarraceniasMike T

Re: Blue Mountain Botanic Garden
Difficult to do justice in describing these Puya berteroniana. The flower colour is stunning, and a satin/silky texture. I have posted some pics of this previously
Springtime, so some Azaleas
And to finish, a Protea
We only had about an hour and a half at the Gardens, as part of a coach trip to various Blue Mountain locations. Well worth spending much longer if you get the opportunity. Lots to see, great views over the mountains, plants fairly well labelled, and all seemed to be thriving, and providing a home for butterflies, birds and lizards to extend the interest. Like Sydney Botanical Gardens, entry is free - so excellent value.
