Thanks, Roy! All my cacti are inside the house in front of windows. The only exception is my four Opuntia fragilis 'Füssen' which are outside in a rockery (and now blooming!), as you can see from my earlier posts.

For a couple of years, I have been especially interested in Astrophytums. In addition to the A. ornatum shown on my last photos, I have just ordered A. caput-medusae from Poland. I will post a photo when it arrives.

Here it is: Astrophytum caput-medusae from Poland. Hopefully I have managed to plant it in the right depth.

Here are more pictures showing the blooming Opuntia fragilis 'Füssen' I planted outside in a rockery last year. There were about 40 buds in these four small plants, but one flower only lasts for 1-2 days.

Thanks, kirstyb! I think you must have great conditions for growing cacti in Greece.

Echinopsis eyresii grows very fast! The first picture was taken two years ago and the second one today.

The mother is at my working place, and these are its flowers (the second flower was not detached on purpose!).

Last winter I put this Echinopsis subdenudata variegata in a basement (no light and about +10 C) for 4 months. In spite of the winter rest, it has not bloomed. However, it begun to produce a lot of babies almost immediately I took it back inside the house.

It has produced (and is still producing) green as well as variegated offshoots. Corking has increased, but I have heard that corking by age is typical of E. subdenudata.

I don't think it has had too much sunlight although I know that variegated plants are more sensitive to light. In addition to this plant, I have corking only in one very large Ferocactus, not in any other plant.
