I know a lot of people grow Sempervivums so, I thought I would put a few pictures on, as they are looking good at this time of year.

I conclude there are too many hybrid Semps out there and some of them are very good-looking but no known parentage.

Lovely plants Liz, I like Sempervivums and keep them outside all year, they have such a variety of colours and forms. Thanks for posting.

Lovely, especially like the wavy pot! What compost mix do you use?

I use about half John Innes no2 mixed with grit and cat litter. I top-dress with the grit. The most important thing, I find, is to take out every bit of the spent flowers and the rosette. If you don't, you get moss formation which creeps in between the rosettes and is almost impossible to remove without pulling the plant apart. Before winter sets in I give the plant and pots a good clean up, to try to remove as much plant debris and weed as I can. Then I put them somewhere out of direct rainfall as far as possible. Watering starts again in March.
