This is my very first flowering arabicum. An Adenium arabicum 'RCN' ("Ra Chi Nee Pan Dok" meaning "Queen of Thousand Flowers"). Grown from a seed myself, 8-9 months old:
But nothing really fancy. Just pink...

Cactipod, well, thank you. I am not really into "pink" but flowers are always a treat. Especially flowers on plants which you have grown yourself.

I do agree. I must say I like the pink though, is it a quick growing plant? It looks quite big in the second picture. Although I have never grown one like this so I am a bit clueless on it.
There is always room for more cacti...

Re: My first Adenium arabicum flower
Yes, most Adenium species grow fast in hot weather (30C+) with lots of water and some fertilizer. Growth is rather slow at temperatures of 20-25C. Growth stops below 20C. And if you grow them in small containers (keep them pot-bound), growth will slow down. The flowering arabicum in the photo is pot-bound and has been for a while. Yes, it has been neglected...Cactipod wrote:I do agree. I must say I like the pink though, is it a quick growing plant? It looks quite big in the second picture. These adeniums are all only 12-14 months old:

Thank you for the information. In the 1st of 3 pictures what's the purpose of the cord round the plant?

Thanks. But heated grow tents are a big help.BrianMc wrote:Very impressive Martin!
I train/shape several of my adeniums as bonsais using bonsai techniques, i.e. pruning, pinching, wiring and cords.Cactipod wrote:Thank you for the information. In the 1st of 3 pictures what's the purpose of the cord round the plant?

The colours of the flower have changed a bit (for the better):
