2 weeks later........
Re: Agave Salmiana in Flower
Nearly a month has gone by since flowering started. The flower stalk is now 152cms ( 5ft.) and 20cms across at it's base. To put it in perspective the plant is approx. 2 m. (6ft 6ins) tall.
Re: Agave Salmiana in Flower
My agave salmiana has overwintered well and without many problems, apart from some damage to the lower leaves.
The flower stalk stopped growing in November and restarted in late February. The flowers are now just beginning to form. I have some more pictures on my website: www.agavepages.co.uk

Incredible!. Do the neighbours know you are a cactus and succulent nut? They will now. It's magnificent.
Obsessive Crassulaceae lover, especially Aeoniums but also grow, Aloes, Agaves, Haworthias and a select number of Cacti.
Re: Agave Salmiana in Flower
The agave has progressed at speed and has now reached it's flowering phase. Looks a magnificent sight in suburbia and attracting some of the local parakeets. Not sure what the neighbours make of it!!!!

Fantastic. It looks so majestic against the blue sky. I hope one of mine flowers sometime.
