I managed to grow1 seedling out of ten 10 seeds....I hope I can keep it alive.

I hope you still have the other nine seeds, as they might still germinate (even years from now!).

It is probably bird cage stuff. You can use the stuff to root plants in it, and could be beneficially for shielding seedlings against algae and such too.

Yes it is birdcage stuff, just for the picture, the seedling is in pure BIMS.
