Hi,
I'm going back to the alphabet, always a useful source of inspiration, for this month's topic. After a rather dismal week summer seems to be with us again (at any rate in the south-east), with plenty of sun I hope, so the topic for July is
S is for summer, sun and .....
I'll look forward to seeing your pictures.
Best wishes,
July 2017 - S is for ....

Clarification please Sheila. is it to illustrate Summer and Sun or simply any plant or genus beginning with "S"?

I assumed the "and..." indicated that anything suitable beginning with S could be a contender; but I may be wrong. Unfortunately I have very few cacti or succulents whose first or second names begin with that letter. I'll have to think laterally,DaveW wrote:Clarification please Sheila. is it to illustrate Summer and Sun or simply any plant or genus beginning with "S"?

Hi,
It was supposed to be any plant name beginning with S (genus or specific or cultivar) - I thought there would be quite a few, not necessarily something in flower at the moment.
Or, as Rod suggests, you can think laterally. How about S is for splendid, S is for small, S is for scarlet, or even S is for surprise - something you never thought would flower.
Anything really. I would like some entries though please. It would be embarrassing to be the first person to set a subject which had no entries at all.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Great some entries. It has occurred to me that you could enter anything you didn't have a specific name for as S is for sp!. Also, for Rod, you could always have S is for survivor (of the dark).
S is for scarlet - people's ideas of scarlet vary so it could be any shade of red. I'm sure there are plenty more ideas out there.
Best wishes,

The only correct shade of scarlet is that used on a Ferrari Formula One Car.Sheila wrote:Hi,
