A. V. Fric was a Czechoslovakian cactus collector and after the war we in the West learnt little about the plants Fric had collected and were still being grown by the Czech's until the "Iron Curtain" came down, or even the man himself since little was written in English.
In searching for information I came across these links (including audio) on Fric which may be of interest to others. One of the best known plants named after him is Lophophora fricii, but he is also commemorated with the smallest Lophophora which was named in his honour, Lophophora alberto-vojtechii, using his forenames.
