Random seedling

Post by StephOx »

Can anyone tell me what’s happening to this, and any ideas what it could be?

I would've said a hylocereus, aerial roots aren't unusual. Is it really a seedling, or is it coming up from a pot that maybe had a grafted plant that died in it?

I agree with Hylocereus undatus. I bought a Gymnocalycium mihanovichii that was grafted onto it and it died. I have been taking cuttings and starting new plants in case I want to try grafting. It is quite fast growing. It looks like it could use more light.

I had sown it a year ago from a random cactus mix from ebay (China type ‘rare’ cactus mix[emoji23]) it started off one then few months ago 3 more popped through and the first one flopped over and then recently the root type things appeared. What do I do with them? It was at the windowsill for a while but had to make room for other seedlings for a while.
