ralphrmartin wrote:If you want a separate digital thermostat, look for a WillHi. I used one of those as a replacement on an older Parwin, and it worked well (search the forum for a discussion), despite its low price. The only thing to be careful of is to get the correct model WH7016M - a 240V one which can switch 30A. Note that these are not a plug and socket type, so you will need to wire it in, into a waterproof box, etc.
Looks like there is a plug type out there now but a wierd plug type? - https://www.amazon.co.uk/WILLHI-WH1436A ... B00V4TJR00

It's a potential snag of this type that the temperature is measured at device location, ie at the supply socket. This may not be at bench level where you really want temperature measured. Better perhaps to go for a cable sensor - the power supply cable for the thermostat (eg the Biogreen I mentioned earlier) will give added flexibility, plus you get IPX4 protection.

The one here on Amazon, reading the small print, has a minimum setting of 5 degrees, so might not suit everybody, eg if you are just looking for frost protection.

My suggestion, coming back to the OP, would be to go for the heater first, which will come with a built-in thermostat, and use this together with a cheap max/min digitàl thermometer first to see if the built-in thermostat is adequate before going to the further expense of a decent digital thermostat.

I see your point ragamala (tu)
Since that post I have noticed one that has heating/cooling settings (on the same page) with a probe attachment and a slightly higher handling capacity of 3250w it's a timer thermostat.

The thermostat I use is this one, I stocked up last year when they were on special, it's worth registering to get the announcements & see whats on special or clearance. They do next day delivery so for an emergency are ideal.
