Who am I?

Post by Astro »

I was a stowaway loose head in a pot of unrelated Conos, and I have been multiplying steadily for the past year or two. Just recently, I decided to dazzle my host with a stupendous bouquet, as shown below (in a 2" pot). Who am I?

Ah yes ... the mystery blonde

Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

I think that you are probably Conophytum uviforme.

Maybe now that you have a name, you can show more gratitude!

I think you are a sample of Cono saxetanum. That rich diet of pine needles(?) has plumped you up!

Cono uviforme has much longer petals?

Best wishes,

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes, I seem to have a very close haircut indeed. No idea if petal length is that variable within a species (or what passes for a species in Conos) or not...

My neighbor is a C. rostratum, and that one has a positively gargantuan flower in comparison.
