Cyphostemma juttae - no roots

Hello,

just saved this old plant from a lost garden collection, it had been overwatered and underwatered for years.

Not sure how moist the media should be or how dry to get some rooting going,

its winter, not really cold but cold enough that I don't think it will put on much root growth now until spring, though its in a greenhouse with no heat. Might a heating mat help?

If the caudex is firm I'd wait until it shows signs of growth and then pot it up into a very well drained mix and water generously when the mix starts to dry out. It should root easily enough. Of course, make sure you cut off all the dead and rotten roots first.

I acquired a rootless plant a couple of years ago and it established well with this treatment.

If any rot has spread to the caudex then to be honest I'd dump it.
