Re: Updated seed lists
They said it would .... just needed time
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Might still be "work in progress"

Re: Updated seed lists
I had planned on ordering from them this spring but I think I'll wait until next year. I'm sure the list will be updated further over the next few months, and perhaps the website will be further developed too. It leaves a little bit to be desired in user friendliness.

Re: Updated seed lists
lesliei ‘Jambourree’ price increase from $75 to $85 and out of stock.
Re: Updated seed lists
Anyone considering paying even $75 needs their head examining. Let's get real. Absurd.steviewang wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 11:45 am lesliei ‘Jambourree’ price increase from $75 to $85 and out of stock.
Re: Updated seed lists
OK, so if you wanted to grow that cultivar, where would you buy it more cheaply. These prices simply reflect the principles of capitalism, If demand vastly outstrips supply then the price is high. I would also say that it is not easy to produce large quantities of either 'Fred's Redhead' or 'Jambourree' (the two are pretty much indistinguishable), in my experience they do not flower very freely and the number of seeds in a L. lesliei capsule is low. The Mesa prices for many of the cono seeds is low by World standards and he could have charged much more for many of them, the way they sold out so quickly reflects this.
So let's all be grateful for the seeds we can get from the BCSS distribution at 30p a packet!

Re: Updated seed lists
No, Terry, that is not really my point. Who on earth wants to buy any or every "rare" cultivar? Especially at grossly inflated prices? Is this the depth to which our "hobby" has sunk? I despair. World standards? Count me out.
Where I wholeheartedly agree is that for decades the MSG, through the kind offices of a certain TS, not to mention JS, has provided a superlative annual seed offer without giving in to the pressures of commercialisation. All involved deserve our thanks for their long service. And I was very grateful for the transfer this year of seed to the BCSS December list. As expected this resulted in good germination and I only have myself to blame if I don't bring the plants through to maturity.
