Excellent event. Congratulations to the organisation team. Superb vendors offering great plants and advice.
Bacon butties and tea were a welcome treat after a long drive. And yes I did have my passport stamped and purchases checked at Saddleworth as we returned over the Pennines.

Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

I think I bought them all.
I think I bought 31 plants. I didn't think I'd get many this year, I don't know what happened.
Did you get anything exciting?el48tel wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 5:24 pm Excellent event. Congratulations to the organisation team. Superb vendors offering great plants and advice.

Re: North West Cactus Mart 2019
I bought 17. My daughter bought about a dozen Echeveria. I went for older plants with provenance (e.g from Steve Brack seed or from an old collection being sold on); Gymnocalyciums and Matucanas to add to my collections, and some Echinopsis hybrids to add to my Echinopsis species collection --- and a couple of "pretty" ones I couldn't resist but may regret, certainly plants with evidence of flowering or chance of propagation. And you?KathyM wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 11:55 pm I think I bought them all.

Re: North West Cactus Mart 2019
I bought a few plants where I had no idea what they were but I figured I could look them up and find out. Although I don't think I'm tempted by pretty plants, I think I'm tempted by ugly ones!
I got Rebutia, Adromischus, a few Gymnocalycium, Anacampseros,Tylecodon, mesembs, caudiciforms, bulbs, etc. It's a good sale for buying a bit of everything. But it's easy to buy a few of one genus, a few of another and then realise you've bought quite a lot of plants.
I also got quite a big Calibanus hookeri that didn't fit in the photo.

Apart from the Calibanus I see you have followed your small plants pattern. Some nice ones too. The NW mart had lots to offer and you are right .... it's surprising how quickly you can be tempted, buy a couple, buy a few more and then be totally surprised at how many you have. On the other hand, it's good to try other genera. It'll be good to hear how you get on with them.

Re: North West Cactus Mart 2019
Looks like a pretty good selection of plants. I couldn't make it this year, but I hope to have a table to sell a few plants next year.

Re: North West Cactus Mart 2019
Another excellent cactus mart thanks to lots of hard work put in. Very busy too, so word is getting round!
I bought 15. They get photographed before being absorbed into the collection.
Looking for Adromischus but only found one, so 2 interesting succulents from Ian Robinson as substitutes. Plus a Westfield hybrid I really could not refuse
