WOW - what an April surprise these have been
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

As expected, lots of attractive plants and flowers. For not just the plant/flowers but also the photo composition, I particularly liked Juster's Copiapoa, Jim Mercer's Kalanchoe (I tend to think of them as disposable decorations, like Poinsettias at Christmas, but this looks a beauty), Jim's Crassula, and el48tel's Turbinicarpus and Stenocactus.

But the winner is SpikeyMike's Pelecyphora. The buds give the impression both of new spring growth, and also the promise of the flowers to come. The focus is very clear, and the dark buds stand out well against the white background (though I think it would have been even better if the plant label had been removed).

So congratulations, and over to you for May's subject.

Thank you Mike T for awarding the monthly photo competition to me. Very kind indeed and amazingly impressive photographs from the other entrants. Have only just seen that you are kind enough to award this to me so I shall scratch my head a bit today and put up a new topic for me ASAP. Happy growing everyone!
