Stenocactus multicostatus

Post by SpikyMike »

I have only very limited space, a tiny lean-to greenhouse and windowsills only. And only started collecting 1y ago so have a small collection of small plants. But am delighted with how many of them are flowering. And what flowers some of them have! I love this little one. Already such amazing form to the plant body - and then these flowers! Thumbs up for evolution!

I think Stenocacti have it all, marvelous bodies, fine spines and candy stripe flowers.☺

Agreed. Good stuff in one package.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Very nice Mike, if you only have limited room it's best(imo) to grow the smal stuff with the best flowers. A bit of research will not go amiss before a purchase. Cheers

Growing a mixed collection of cacti & other succulents; mainly smaller species with a current emphasis on lithops & conophytum.

And they (most?) can take a bit of cold in winter too. Don't forget that!
