Gorgeous ... and I love the spines
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Rod Smith

Growing a mixed collection of cacti & other succulents; mainly smaller species with a current emphasis on lithops & conophytum.

Indeed, the hooked spines on mine have a very tiny barb - that is what keeps the spine caught under the skin and makes removal painful!

Don't care! I can cope with that if the plant is a true stunner.

I once got a Mammillaria bombycina caught on my wooly jumper. It was pre-digital camera days so we never got a photo. It took ages to get it off. The more you think you are getting there, the worse it gets.

Most of us have probably done something similar over the years.
