April eNews is out .... Note: ZOOM Meetings in April

Post by Al Laius »

Hello all

The April eNews has been emailed to all subscribers today. Apart from a few topical articles there are plenty of links to slideshows, videos and other offerings which will help pass the time of day if you are feeling bored.

The Society has organised top class speakers to give live talks/presentations each Tuesday evening during April using the very easy to use Zoom app. Please make a note of these dates and times and join in these online ‘branch meetings’

We've been using zoom to chat to fellow branch members. It is really easy to use. I picked it up in a few minutes having never made a video call before in my life.

Works on PC and laptop, though you need a webcam and a microphone for people to see or hear you. You won't need either if just watching.

There is an app for smart phones too.

If you have never attended a meeting before.... now is your chance to see what the talks are like.

Think I have signed up to Zoom, but someone might have to tell me how I mute my microphone?

There should be a little microphone symbol showing when you've got the video link going. If you click that it should then have a line through it - microphone muted.
