Good questions,

6" long & about 4" wide.

I ref. hon. member to a post I made earlier :) as they say in another place, ,
in which I requested ID, and @anttisepp suggested "Cereus jamacaru? "
https://forum.bcss.org.uk/viewtopic.php ... 85#p277323

and the third is opening as I type !

Thanks. You don't expect me to remember anything that happened more than about a week agao, do you?

The flowers hardly look real, do they? Almost like they are plastic, or wax, or something.

Me neither, it took me a while to remember where I had posted :)

but it seemed better to mock our Mad Paliamentarians
than answer your "what is it" with a "I dunno !" :)

and I am not even sure if @anttisep was sure either, considering the tentative "?" used.
so all thoughts welcome.

plastic or wax, yes they do a bit, mind flash is very harsh and I assure that there are no more practical joking kids here anymore (g'daughter is not yet old enough! and anyway is locked away from us :( for the time being )

And in the cold light of day (well actually the warm sunshine!) a spent flower was dissected in the interests of science :)

Been playing with my microscope :
Looks like there was lots of pollen available but either no moths, not a surprise (!) or not self-fertile(?) as they have never set seed. Maybe next year, not that we want any seed - one monster is enough
And now I want a microtome.

Pics should be viewed with Joan Baez in the background "It's All Over Now, baby blue"
