Hi from London Borough / Surrey Postcode
A very brief note to day thank you for accepting us ( wife watching on ) to the forum. Complete novices to cacti apart from the several Schlumbergera we have dotted around. All these were from cuttings though that we 'acquired', with permission, from the garden centre when they were putting out stock. We have recently made our first garden centre purchase (2) and are in danger of being completely hooked. Hoping to gain knowledge and experience so be prepared for all the usual beginner type questions. One thing I could not find was a thread dedicated maybe to plant ID so I guess that will be the first one to appear from us. In the meantime we are loading info through google and youtube etc.

Re: Hi from London Borough / Surrey Postcode
Welcome to the Forum Hectorsgaf, there are several BCSS branches on the S. London/ Surrey borders, but unfortunately none will be meeting at present. When things return to normal you might like to try attending some meetings or shows, where you will be able to buy named plants from specialist growers. Everyone here knows about being 'hooked' . Enjoy your plants!

Welcome both of you.
Put the plant ID requests into the Cacti and Succulents forum.

Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
