Bill Keen - RIP

Post by Al Laius »

I have been informed that Bill Keen passed away two days ago. Bill was a long time member of both the NCSS & BCSS. He was Editor of the NCSS Journal (1976-1982) and the BCSS Journal (1983-1991). Bill was Vice-Chairman of the BCSS (1998-2003) and President in 2004.

Condolences to his family.

Sad to hear of Bill's passing. He must have been a good age - it is a long time since I've seen him at a Cactus Meeting.

I have many memories of him, and many people will recall his introductory class for those new to Judging at the Judges course. Always kindly and helpful. A stalwart of the Coventry Branch and gave a very large number of talks to branches.

Condolences to all his family and friends.

This is very sad news indeed. I have many personal, fond memories from my interactions with Bill Keen, a true gentleman. Bill was also the Editor of Haworthiad for the Haworthia Society from late 2001 to late 2011 and wrote countless articles for that journal over a period of more than twenty years.

Sincere condolences to Bill's family from all at the Haworthia Society.

So sad to hear this news, I took over from Bill as editor of Haworthiad in 2011 and had so much support from him.

RIP and condolences to his family.

By a strange coincidence, he went to school with my mum. Condolences to the family.
