Re: RHS Wisley Cactus & Succulent Show?
I'm not sure what's happening about the 'Show' aspect but there will be plenty of plant sales and displays plus talks from Graham Charles and Colin Walker, a BCSS Membership card gets reduced admission, the saving almost pays for the membership fee. It's open to the public as well as BCSS members so I'd recommend being there when the gardens open for the best plant sales. The new Hilltop venue at Wisley looks quite a smart venue. Maybe someone would like to publicise this event in place of the Euphorbia that have been at the top of this Forum for ages.
While I was writing this Tony just beat me in the speed of his reply.

Re: RHS Wisley Cactus & Succulent Event
Thanks for this information Derek, I cannot be there for the whole day, but will be there for part of the time, looking forward to it. For those unfamiliar with Wisley, don't miss the Alpine house, not very far from the Hilltop events centre and always a delight.

Re: RHS Wisley Cactus & Succulent Event
It's good to see cooperation between the BCSS and the RHS, it's worked well at Hyde Hall and Bridgewater Gardens and the BCSS needs these sort of venues to show the public that there's more to cacti than scrubby plants in garden centres. Let's hope there's good BCSS membership publicity available and the free booklet that oddly only ever seems to be available in very small quantities. Looking forward to a good cactus day though weather is currently forecast to only be 1C when nurseries arrive at 7am.

Re: RHS Wisley Cactus & Succulent Event
RHS members have free entry to Wisley, otherwise it's £15.95 for adults so use your BCSS Membership Card and save almost £8, that's saving over half the cost of BCSS membership by going to one event. Well done to whoever negotiated that offer.

A couple of pictures from today, first the display by Ottershaw Cacti
And the Copiapoa display by Graham Charles
A very good event and excellent publicity for the BCSS, plenty of people buying plants and taking various leaflets.Croydon Branch member, growing mainly cacti and Echeverias
