Post by colser »

Hey All,

I'm looking for stock photos for Cacti, Mesembs and the rest of the wonderful world of Succulents that i would be able to use for BCSS and MSG articles.
Any pointers (or personal collections) i can tap into?

colser@live.co.uk if you would prefer to ping me direct

Many thanks
Col

With copyright issues, I'd suggest asking on the Forum for specific photos to accompany an article. I don't think stock photos would be appropriate to an Editor.

Plenty of images on flickr that can be used. Just select creative commons when searching: https://www.flickr.com/search/?text=mes ... C5%2C6%2C9

Please don't use any from Pinterest. Many/most pictures on there have very doubtful provenance (e.g. likely lifted elsewhere from the WWW, usually without permission).

Yes I agree
Don't use Web images without checking provenance
Do ask for specific images on this forum .... there's some cracking talent here.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Is this for print use as well as web? Sourcing good high resolution images may not always be easy.
I’d echo comments to request photos from here.
I am a getty / istock contributor, although not to date with any c&s shots. Unfortunately many mainstream image library photos of c&s are incorrectly labelled.
