Turb lorenzini

Post by Eric Williams »

My plant has flowered for the third time this year. It has never done this in the past. Temps today hovering around 104f. Perhaps most plants have closed down due to the heat.

Then Google is wrong. Duckduckgo prefers T. alonsoi, just like me. Probably named after someone names Alonso and not Alonsiin.

Cracking plant.

I searched high and low for one of these at the national show and finally found one. I found turning a corner in the car that it leapt out of the pot. It had no roots whatsoever. It's taken until now to show any sort of root growth.
Growing in Nottingham for the past 4 years and recently found my way to a Nottingham branch meeting. A few plants on a windowsill has very quickly turned into a greenhouse full!

Attempting to grow a range of turbinicarpus, coryphantha, escobaria and several other cactus genera. Tylecodons, pelargoniums and conophytums keep me occupied in the winter and an ever expanding number of gasteria live under the bench.

Each to there own ("... eye of the beholder"). I'm equally torn between T. schmiedickeanus var. panarottoi (subs. andersonii), and T. graminispinus.
