This happened to pop open when I was looking at it this morning, so I took these over the subsequent hour. First time it has flowered. Allegedly Stapelia gettleffii/hirsuta. It doesn't look quite right compared with photos on the web and looks very like my S.grandiflora. Opinions welcome!

I grow very, very few Stapeliads these days, but spotted this yesterday whilst looking at a tray of miscellaneous succulents under the bench. I thought I ought to bring it up into the sunshine for a few days.

If you can grow that you should grow a few more!

my few ... have all decided .... enough is enough .... and are showing signs of giving up
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Looks a bit more convincingly 'hirsute' this afternoon. Flies don't care about ID anyway.

Love that Trichocaulon Tony!

Very nice Mike. It resembles a less spiky pillansii.
