Hi all,
Not for me but a friend is asking, any suggestions or not recommended models pls.

I use the Dymo Letratag model and tapes that I buy on eBay. I am pleased with the model. It is priced at around £30.00 on Amazon UK. However ALDI sell the same model from their stores twice a year for around £15.00 where I bought mine. I have a couple of photos available, however I cannot get this antiquated Forum system to accept photos.

I believe the more expensive Brother models are very good.

He wants to print direct on to a label, I have an old brother P-touch for my labelling but he has a small business selling plants so wants something quicker & less work

I don't know if it is still available. It is probably an older model. Bought it second had in 2011 and it still works fine.

I finally accepted I was never going to get round to using my clear Avery labels in conjunction with a laser printer so bought a Brother H101C from Costco which I plan to use for the collection. For the nursery I can't find anything better than my voice-activated label printer though this doesn't always work in cold or wet weather.

Kevin Bailey uses one for his plant sales and told me about it.

You can design your own layouts, but be careful - the free version of the software that comes with it may need to be upgraded to a paid version if you want to print lots of different labels from a spreadsheet.

[Being a cheapskate, I bought a similar TSC branded printer taking the same supplies, to print labels for my spare plants, and wrote my own software to print labels using the printer's built in control language. I still my Brother P-Touch printer to label plants in my collection.]

I use the Labelzone model which Ralph has just pointed out.......it is very good especially if you have a tray of 54 plants of the same name ....it prints them out within 10 seconds.

I also have my Plant Passport details on this label ready for online sales.

Lablezone do have a lifetime guarantee on the machine plus they can help set it up with you phone to phone.

The cost I believe is about £700 which most people would not wish to pay, but if you get through 1000s of labels a season like myself, then the time and convenience of using this type of machine is well worth it.

Hi Tina,

I use a Broth Ptouch P700. It has many more functions than the previous hand held printer I had.

It can print from a spread sheet and multiples of the same label - its good.
