A new member from Thailand

Post by stephania »

Hello !
Glad to be here, I am also a succulent lover, especially caudiciform and xerophytic bromeliad, such as Dyckia, Hechtia, Deuterocohnia, Orthophytum. I hope to join this great forum for sharing our beloved plants.

This is me with "Mr.Giant" : Stephania suberosa, a huge native caudex plant in my collection.

Welcome Stephania,
I know you will bring a lot of knowledge to this group, especially growing *monster* sized caudiciforms as you do.

Best regards

Chris

Hello Stephania

Welocme to the forum, I'm sure we are going to be very jealous of your 'growing conditions' compared to our greenhouse & extra heating.

Great book isn't it, when I go to show's & cactus marts it normally goes with me & is my favourite bed time reading.

Tina

varied collection of succulents and cacti but I especially like Euphorbia's, Ariocarpus and variegated agaves.

Hi Stephania,

Welcome and hope you enjoy the forum.

Chief Moderator (Mod) Tina will be very jealous of your huge Stephania - she's really into these caudiciforms.

I've rarely seen Stephania in the UK - does anyone on this Forum grow it?

Cheers,
Colin

Hi Stephania,

Welcome to the forum! What fantastic plants! Do you know how old Mr Giant is?

(What is this book? I'm intrigued now, but can't see the title...)

Tending more towards cacti :D, particularly Gymnocalyciums, Rebutias, Sulcorebutias, Echinopses, Thelos, Feros and Mamms (and anything else I like the look of!) all in an 8 x 6 polycarb greenhouse and a few windowsills!

A guide to growing Pachycaul & caudiciform plants By Philip de vosjloi, of course it helps that he lives in California & not dreary grey Uk (it's raining in MK today :~((.

If you have ever kept reptiles you would recognise his names from the books he wrote concerning Reptile husbandry
