Aloe, no I didn't, was aware it was on the island, but didn't realise it was in the same town as Botanicactus, wonder if there is a connection.

Maria, we stayed in what they call an aparttel or something, basicaly fully serviced apartments staying self catering or fully inclusive or any combination in between. We went for the fully inclusive, that's all meals and ALL drinks and we paid ?1300 for 3 adults and 1 child including flights and a car for the week. Our first trip abroad as a family and it was great not to have to worry about meals, washing up and cleaning.


Julie, you certainly could spend all day there, not only is there the cacti zone but also a smaller area for native plants and a lake with palms and pamapas grass etc. The agave are a bit like weeds out there and were flowering all ove rthe place, 62 is Agave victoriae-reginae

Chris, Bo 36 is Opuntia tunicata, not clever, I can read the label on the original picture LOL

Excellent pics. Plants to only dream about when growing in the UK. Botanicactus 51 & 52 look like Chorisia speciosa which was mentioned in a thread some weeks ago. The flower does look spectacular. Were there any of the fluffy seedheads?

They were just labeled Chorisia, Mike plenty of flowers no seed heads. Quite sizable trees, pic below.

To give my eldest daughter her due when we left she did present me with a couple of different Agave seed pods, she rescued from a skip.
