Hi, All.
First flower on this rough looking plant.
Flower tube not as long as some of this type.
Looking in the book it might be E.scheeri.

Re: Echinocereus ID please.
The flower looks almost identical to the one on one of my plants I picked up last week at Harrogate flower show:
http://www.xest-net.org/misc/ghouse/ghouse9.jpg
Mine is labelled as Echinocereus coccineus x acifer so presumably yours is a Coccineus, Acifer or both
A quick Google image search shows their flowers as being pretty similar!

Re: Echinocereus ID please.
Hi Geoff
It looks very much like my Echinocereus salm-dyckianus (which is in the society gallery). I believe that is a synonym for E. scheerii anyway.

Re: Echinocereus ID please.
From the stem and flower it could be close to E. klapperi:-
[attachment 10145 klapperi.jpg]
Certainly of the E. scheerii group but E. scheerii tends to be a pinker flower.

Or if the flower colour is really orange, close to E. salmdyckianus
