Re: Wrong time of the year.
Hi, Paul in Essex.
Not sure if I got my first plant from Ralph but it is quite possible.
I was given a plant by someone in the Exeter branch around the same time, (not Ralph) and he said it grew outside ok in this area.
Didn't like to say I already had a plant that looked very much like it.
Pups. It has not produced many, less since being planted out and the few are very close in, so not easy to get at.
Will see if I can get at any later in the Spring.

Re: Wrong time of the year.
Thanks Geoff. Might give me the excuse I have been waiting for to pop over and visit one time in spring, maybe.

Hello Agavegeoff
I am curious to know how your agaves did in the last weeks. I was away for the Christmas in warmer places. But I left a heater in the large greenhouse which performed well. In the small unheated greenhouse I lost a few small agave sp, and Sansevieria. But I have learnt from the experience ... these small plants should have been left in the basement in the house.

Hi Winston
The ones you lost would it be A.pumilla, just been in the G/H & two of mine are looking seriously poorly ( other 3 are fine but smaller plants) I find this a difficult Agave to grow well, without splits & die back of odd leaves.
ANy one got any advice ??

Hello Tina
I did not know very much about A. pumila. And checking the photos on the net, I can surely say it is very different from my small plants.
I came across some information today which probably can help you.
