Re: short notice Mexico trip
I returned from a 12-day trip to central Mexico a couple of weeks ago and had a great experience. In fact, Trev and I saw one or two places within a day of each other. I stayed in Queretaro and Hidalgo, two states not mentioned in the FO travel advice, and stuck to main roads. Most places I stayed were in 'pueblos magicos'. Despite my very limited Spanish people were extremely friendly and helpful (e.g. getting a flat tyre changed and fixed). But yes, I wouldn't travel to the northern states either, despite all their fantastic cacti... I'll post a travelogue when I find some time!
Mainly cacti, with a preference for Mexican ones, but I'm flexible!
