M. minuta is small growing and easy to flower.

You have a great collection, Phil and good information. Thank you, it's very helpful.I think I agree with you with regard to my plant. A. spaerica seems to be fatter than A. pachypus and mine is a rounded plant rather than a flattish one.

It's some sort of Maihueniopsis, isn't it? It looks like the recently described M. glochidiata which seems to have been hiding in many collections for many years as a glomerata or minuta or 'sp.'

Names of plants on labels is a bit of a lottery. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Often they are old or out of date names and sometimes just wrong. Thank you, I'll relabel it as Maihueniopsis glochidiata, it seems a very suitable name, that's for sure.
