Re: Strombocactus with 20 flowers
Very nice. I have a number of old 'normal' plants which produce many flowers but all in tight bunches in the center. It shows up the flowers much better on your cristate. (I realised looking for a pic to post that I haven't taken any since I went digital - another job for the summer)

Re: Strombocactus with 20 flowers
A very interesting plant and one that would compliment my collection of Strombocacti! I notice that the flowers are very much smaller than the normal plant, more like the size of the red flowering plants. Has anyone seen a S. pulchellus with flowers the size of the normal S.disciformis? I find that mine have very small, intensely coloured, red flowers, produced in abundance, whilst the "normal" one always has white or yellowish ones, which are very large however many are open together.
