Hello Darryl,

Can you explain me how you fixed your plastic on your greenhouse? Is it strong enough against the wind?
Do you change your plastic each year or do you open your greenhouse by remove your plastci from one side and cover it again with winter rain?
I'm also looking for ideas to have a rain (and sometines snow) protection during winter time and to have a openair greenhouse the rest of the year.

Thierry

Hi Thierry,
I think it would be best to show you rather than try to type it. I'll take some photos for you this week. It's a very simple process. It's very strong, we've had 65mph+ (100kmh+) winds and the plastic was just fine.

We plan to remove the plastic on the succulent house (it has 60% shadecloth) but I'm going to try leaving the plastic on the cactus house (this new one uses 50% shadecloth) all year. I will add vents at the top of the front and back and roll up the sides 3ft. If it stays too hot, then I'll have to remove it completely. I'll see how it goes.

We used a 4 mil thick plastic, I don't think anything thinner would be as good for you, especially if there's a chance it will get covered in snow.

Wow, that will be a great space to spend work time when it's all done!

My first thought is it's bigger than my flat!! Ever thought of renting it out as a holiday home? I'm happy to share with the plants

Tres bien!
Looks nice, Thierry.

Hi Julie, there isn't much room left, but the succulents make for a soft mattress :)
