It's always nice to see this each year for the first time

Post by Chris L »

Got home from work a few minutes ago and saw this for the first time this year. Granted the door was shut, so that's boosted the temperature inside the GH (thermometer showed 32degC). Won't be long before we will be able to see the leaves starting to grow on the trees etc.

And clear blue sky. In the south-east we have only seen occassional glimses of the sun in the last fortnight.

It is clear blue sky in the North-West, again, today. It makes a change from grey and soggy.
Temperatures have certainly gone up, especially in the greenhouse.
Today I gave a lot of Sempervivums a clean up and some water, Aeoniums have had their second watering, Crassulas got some, Echeverias next week I think, after all it will be March then. Cacti can wait for a bit. I am very tempted to water the Agaves, should I hold off? Aloes and Gasterias, what about them?
Obsessive Crassulaceae lover, especially Aeoniums but also grow, Aloes, Agaves, Haworthias and a select number of Cacti.

Had to water some things a couple of times this week. A bit cloudy today, but we have had a week of this sunshine - two mornings were obscured by fog though ;)

Echeverias seem to be a couple of weeks earlier than normal
Especially interested in Mesembs. small Aloes and South African miniatures and bulbs.

Third time in four days, might do a bit of watering beyond the crassulas.

About time too. I had 35°C in the greenhouse yesterday, I was quite shocked!
