Zone 12 Mini-Convention - this weekend

Zone 12, in conjunction with Crawley Horticultural Society (CHS), will be holding its mini-convention - the Derek Desborough Memorial Lecture - on Sunday 4th May at the usual venue of Crawley Horticultural Hall, Ifield Avenue, Crawley, West Sussex, RH11 7AJ. The event will run from 1:00pm to 5:30pm.

The principal speaker, Paul Hoxey, will present two talks: Cactus Highlights from Mexico and the premiere of Northern Peru - A Journey to Matucana Habitats. Paul has visited Peru several times recently as part of ongoing field research for a proposed new book co-authored with Graham Charles that has already revealed some new species. There will also be a short presentation by Stuart Riley: New Succulent Hybrids.

Plant sales will be by Stuart Riley and various members.

Do come along and enjoy the afternoon. The price of £7.00 includes a buffet and represents excellent value for money (compare with other similar events) thanks to our partnership with CHS. The Derek Desborough Memorial Lecture is this Sunday and tickets are still available, priced at £7.00. We have a great venue, excellent speakers, plentiful plant sales, a raffle and Mrs. Werewolf is preparing a tasty buffet!

Advanced preparations are also underway for the Zone 12 Show, which will be held at South Downs Nursery, Hassocks, West Sussex on Saturday 9th August. Schedules will be available shortly.
